A fine day for poppin’

I couldn’t take it anymore. I swear that all of this heat has caused my face to break out more than it ever has. I even have pimples on my shoulders. That NEVER happens to me. I seriously can’t recall a single time that I have had more than one or two stray blemishes on my shoulders or back, and those were probably ingrown hairs rather than pimples.

And so I reached my limit and I did what countless other people do: I popped.

I’m no superman. I know that you’re not supposed to pop pimples. Doing so can actually make your skin worse by opening a pathway for new bacteria to move into your pores. Plus, it takes longer for pores to heal when they have gaping wounds in them. That kind of makes sense, doesn’t it.

Oh, plus there’s the problem of permanent scars. That’s not something I really want to deal with.

But I guess I figured my skin couldn’t look much gnarlier than it already did. Actually, I didn’t figure anything. I went against my own advice.I knew better, and I did it anyway.

I probably popped five or six before I came to my senses.

Now that I’m back in my right mind, I’m going to take this opportunity to offer and ask for support. If you ever feel the need to pop, just post on this site and I’ll “talk you down.” I promise that I’ll respond as soon as I can.

And if I ever feel the need to mash up my face again, I’ll post something *before* I do it, rather than later, which doesn’t really solve the problem, does it?
