Protect your face from the summer sun

Some people claim that they experience increased acne breakouts during the summer. There could be a number of factors that cause these people to get more pimples during the summer. By protecting your skin, though, you can maintain skin health while preventing acne.

Use a Daily Moisturizer with SPF Protection

If you spend more time outside during the summer, then your skin gets exposed to more of the sun’s damaging rays. Instead of using regular sunblock to keep your skin safe, consider using a daily moisturizer that offers SPF protection as well. This will block harmful rays from the sun while making sure that your skin stays hydrated. Since many people experience dry skin during the summer, it is important to choose a product that addresses both needs.

When choosing a moisturizer, make sure to look for the words “non-comedogenic” or “oil-free.” Many moisturizing lotions contain fats and oils that can clog your pores. Clogged pores will almost certainly lead to more breakouts. Non-comedogenic moisturizers, however, do not contain oils and fats. You can, therefore, get the benefits of a moisturizer without causing acne.

Drink Plenty of Water

Drinking plenty of water will hydrate your skin from the inside. Staying properly hydrated also makes it easier for your pores to repair themselves at the cellular level. If you aren’t drinking enough water, then you can expect your skin to suffer. The more time that you spend outside, the more water you will need.

What tips do you follow to take better care of your skin during the summer months? They’re approaching quickly, so it’s best to start preparing now.
