Well, maybe some times you can pop a zit

I always tell people to avoid popping their zits. There are two good reasons for this:

1- popping your zit can introduce more bacteria to the area, which means the zit can get bigger

2- popping zits can cause scarring

Those are two important reasons. Although it’s some times satisfying to get pus out of an infected pore, it’s almost always better to just leave things alone. Instead of popping, apply some OTC acne treatments that have worked for you in the past. It’s a much safer, effective way to take care of your blemishes.

But some times, you really need to pop that thing.

These moments are few and far between. Most people never even get pimples that are worth popping. If you have acne-prone skin and you’re not so great at taking the proper precautions, then you could slowly create an infected pore that begs for a popping. In extreme cases, I say go ahead and do it. When you have that much pus built up in your zit, your probably not going to cause that much harm anyway.

If you’re wondering what constitutes a zit worth popping, then check out this video. These are the kinds of pimples (calling them boils might even be more accurate) that practically demand surgery. One thing that I’d like to point out, though. If you recruit help popping your infected zit, then make sure the popper wears gloves. I can’t believe how many people in this video go in for a pop without even thinking about gloves. Then of course they yell about the volcanic eruption of pus that has landed on their hands.

Oh, Internet, you  make the wisdom and folly of human beings so obvious.

Thanks to the sicko who put this vid together! I’m pretty sure that some of them are parasites, though…
